There are some things we do that we know are toxic to our quality of life, our profession, our business, and our community. Yet, here we are — — doing the very things that keep us doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. It could be one of three things.

Trauma bonding — — Some bad habits are forged in trauma which means we know they are bad for us, but the trauma where it came from created a deep bond between us and it, so it seems familiar and a part of us.

Default — we tend to go back to old habits when a new one isn’t obvious or present.

Fear of the unknown — We are creatures of habit, so when something new or different comes our way
