Change is what happens. Transformation is what you do with what happens.

That’s one of my favorite phrases because it’s reflective of my work as a Futurist and Change Management Specialist. We are entering a time where we have to make decisions about the moment of change we’re in. I’d like to recommend something called Deep Adaptation.

Deep adaptation is an extension of the Ubuntu philosophical structure that says societal infrastructures are not “stand alones”, but connected systems, run by connected people. Deep Adaptation suggests that this time of change we’re in is unique and requires us to practice deep compassion, non-violence, and an understanding of the interconnectedness of all things.
