There is a belief that the holiday season is about gifts and getting together with family over big meals. We decorate our homes to symbolize the festiveness of the season, the pageantry of the moment and the joy of connecting.

While all of those things may be true, it’s also important to understand there is a reason why this holiday occurs around December 22nd.
